Introducing Peachy Pink Country Retreat – perfect for families – UBK-205600

Welcome to our spacious house No. 78 Main Road Littleton in the heart of the village of Littleton, parish of Littleton and Harestock, approximately 2 miles from Winchester city centre. We are 150 yards from the village pub, the Running Horse, so named because of the village’s long and continuing association with horse-racing. The pub, which is owned by Upham Breweries, does excellent real ale, and reliably good food.Walking down the hill beyond the pub you come to the delightful village church of St Catherine’s. Following Church Lane, between the church and the churchyard, will take you to the public footpath through Littleton stud where there are always many racehorses to be admired as well as the wonderful Hampshire countryside.A bit further afield are the picturesque villages of Crawley, with its duck-pond and gastropub, the Fox and Hounds, and of Sparsholt, with the Plough pub and the elegant Lainston House Hotel which does memorable afternoon teas in a grand setting.Winchester possibly has the highest density of pubs, restaurants, cafes and eating places of any city in England. Good Indian food at the Gandhi in the Broad and Gurkha’s Inn on City Road. Excellent Italian at Tom’s Deli in St George’s Street and God Begot House in the High Street. Rick Stein’s in the Broad for fish and Wagamama for East Asian/vegetarian in Jewry Street are other recommendations. Pubs with history and distinction include the Old Vine and the Eclipse on Market Street and, for real ale, the place to go is the Hyde Tavern on Hyde Street. Space and light come to mind when you stay in this beautiful 1960’s built detached house upgraded over the years with modern kitchen instant hot water for showers and gas central heating along with double glazing for warmth – there even a fireplace for when it is really chilli.5 bedrooms (3 doubles, 2 singles) sleeping up to 8 people with crisp white linens 2 bathrooms (1 on the 1st floor 1 on the ground floor) both with showers and 1 with a bath for soaking away the stress of city living listening to the bird song.As there is 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom on the ground floor it’s perfect for those who don’t like to take the stairs!Plenty off street parking for 4 cars, garage and EV Charger for multi generation families to gather together.Mature well cared for gardens (front and rear) with abundant apples in the autumn – see the squirrels, birds busy about their day – even the odd deer wanders into the garden on occasion!Plenty of walking on public footpaths to be done yet it’s only 10 minutes drive to Winchester!SUSTAINABILITY: This property has an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating of DNotice: Displayed prices and data are not final, and should be used for informative purpose only.
